Ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted to go to Rome, Italy. There are so many beautiful sights to see and the few people I know that have been, say it is truly amazing. I want to see Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel and the Colusseum, just to start with. The list of sites to see and things to do could go on for miles, there is simply to many options.
Vatican City would definitely be my first stop. Growing up Catholic, I have always had it on my list of things to see. I want to see the many chapels and holy sites that Vatican City has to offer. My next stop will be Michelangelos’ Sistine Chapel. Over 5,000 square feet of painting, I can only imagine at this point the beauty it holds. The simple test of time is one thing that makes me want to see it. It was painted over 500 years ago. The detail that went into it is breathtaking from what I’ve heard. It will definitely be one of my first stops in Rome. The Colosseum is another site I will have to see. It has been depicted in so many movies. Jumper and Gladiator are what sparked my interest in the Colosseum. To see something of that size from so long ago will be a real treat.
I think that the Vatican and Sistine Chapel and the Colosseum would be an amazing vacation. I have seen so many pictures of all the different paintings and can’t wait to see how beautiful they are in person. Oh, I hear you can’t go to Italy without having some Pizza, so at some point I will have to fit that into my schedule. This is one goal that I hope to accomplish within the next five years. It shouldn’t be too hard, all it will take is a little time and money.

I too dream of being able to go to Rome. It is on my long list of places to visit that I have not been to yet. I really hope that you are able to go!
I also would love to spend a good month in the gorgeous city of Rome, I hope somewhere in the future will all have time for this enchanted trip.
When you're in the Sistine Chapel, you are packed in like sardines. So, be prepared for that. But it is unbelievable, especially, "The Creation of Man." Be sure to try the pizza at the street cafe across from the Colosseum. Wonderful!
Thanks for the advice Deanne!
You won't regret it! I would suggest going in the spring!
